Dr. Balmores is a licensed clinical psychologist in Hawaii and Virginia. She has over 20 years’ experience in the field providing therapy and conducting psychological evaluations.
At Oahu Psychological Services (OPS), she provides therapy to children from the ages of 8 to adulthood addressing a wide range of issues related to mental health, including anxiety, depression, stress/adjustment difficulties, trauma, grief, Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, OCD and social difficulties. She also provides pre-bariatric evaluations.
Dr. Balmores’ utilizes an integrative therapeutic approach that draws from a wealth of evidence practices that includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness-Based interventions and Exposure and Responses Prevention. She takes a strength-based approach and provides a warm and supportive environment for her clients in addressing the challenges they are facing, fostering their personal growth and developing effective tools to reach their treatment goals.
Dr. Balmores’ professional experiences have also included conducting evaluations for the Hawaii Department of Education and providing therapy to children and adults for various conditions within a private practice. She began her career providing therapeutic services at an experiential residential treatment program in Hawaii and completed her post-doctoral training at Kapiolani Child Protection Center in Honolulu Hawaii. Dr. Balmores is also currently providing therapy to military families at a hospital in Virginia.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, two dogs, cats and rabbits. She also enjoys art, cooking, yoga, traveling and hiking.
