Our Mission
Regardless of treatment orientation, underlying all interventions is a respect for the individual, the client, and an emphasis on developing a strong therapeutic relationship.
We provide top-of-the-line ADHD, learning disability, and related psychological assessments for children and adults. We also provide a range of therapeutic modalities (i.e. humanistic, cognitive behavioral, psychodynamic, interpersonal, family, group) to fit the needs of clients suffering from anxiety, depression, behavioral disorders, addictive behaviors, and phase of life adjustment problems.
Our History
Dr. Umphress gained his license in 1997, working at Pali Momi and independently until 2013, when he founded Oahu Psychological Services. As a former University instructor, he founded OPS to not only help fill the needs of the local community, but to assist students and new graduates gain the experience they needed as they started their careers.
Today, Oahu Psychological Services comprises a staff of 10 licensed behavioral health specialists, serving individuals and also working with hospitals and individual medical providers for the people of our island.
